Day 103 Easter's attractions

Easter's attractions

In Australia, Easter is the festival held by Catholic and Christian to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. As a typical western country, Australia proclaimed the Friday right before the Easter weekend to be a public holiday. Which is referred by us as the ‘good Friday’. Taking this chance, universities in Melbourne combined this holiday with the mid-semester break, so we would have a long break. Although there are plenty of assignments sitting there to be finished, it has been a good opportunity for us to conclude our preceding study and perhaps relax the tensed nerve. Therefore, I would like to recommend some great events that we may attend during the holiday.

The first place has always been my favorite, which is the Melbourne comedy festival. Strictly speaking, it is not a special event that specifically designed for the Easter break, since it starts from 25th March until 18th April. Nevertheless, I still strongly suggest you to invest the precious leisure time on this fantastic event in Melbourne. As the Chinese proverb claimed, a smile will prolong life. It is indeed, genuine, because even the medical science advocated laughing will relax people’s facial muscles and boost immune systems. Not to mention the tremendous psychological effect that releases us from pressure accumulated in life. The festival comprises series of shows and invited many famous professional comedy actors/ actresses. Even if you are from a non-English background like me, there are still plenty enjoyments we can discover in this event. Because, in my opinion, the humor and happiness are contagious, hence language and culture should never be the barrier. If this brief introduction attracted your interest, then their website http://www.comedyfestival.com.au/ is the place you want to look for all relative information.

The other event has been a traditional feature as well. It is the Yarra Valley International Chocolate Festival. During this Easter break, the world-famous chocolatiers assemble in Yarra Valley and proudly present over 25,000 handcrafted chocolates within more than 150 types. The trip would be a perfect dream for dessert lovers, and you may also create your own chocolate. Imagine that we enter the chocolate manor where sweet scent floating in the air, enjoy ourselves with delicious chocolates, hot chocolates and ice cream. In addition with the well-known Yarra Valley red wine, the event will definitely become a gourmet carnival. The festival is held at 35 Old Healesville Road
(cnr Melba Highway) Yarra Glen Victoria, and similar with the comedy festival, you may find all details on their website http://www.yvci.com.au/.

Even though my Easter holiday is the epic battle with university assignments, I hope all of you guys will enjoy this break and be prepared for the future challenge
